Our nervous system
The circulation of energy is the dance of our nervous system, heart, and breath. Rediscovering this movement means reconnecting with the life that breathes within us. What many call vital energy actually corresponds to a real physiological process: homeostasis, the ability of our organism to maintain internal harmony between tension and release, action and recovery.
Our autonomic nervous system regulates this energy constantly through two subsystems:
the sympathetic nervous system, which prepares us to act, flee, speak, decide;
and the parasympathetic nervous system, which repairs, digests, soothes, and rebuilds.
Health is the fluidity between these two poles. When one dominates for too long, energy becomes stuck, leading to agitation, fatigue, and sleep disturbances.
The breath is the lever that restores harmonious circulation and activates and balances the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems. It is when these three vital systems are in balance that we feel this energy—this vitality.
Much Love,
